Senior Supervisor – Landscape
Job Purpose:
To supervise and coordinate all landscape maintenance and improvement activities within the assigned DHCM communities, ensuring the aesthetic appeal, functionality, and sustainability of the landscapes are maintained to the highest standards. This role involves overseeing landscape teams, contractors, and ensuring adherence to DHCM’s standards, regulations, and best practices.
Key Accountabilities & Tasks:

Supervise Landscape Teams: Direct and supervise the daily activities of the landscape maintenance team, including assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring quality of work.

Coordinate with Contractors: Manage and coordinate the work of external landscape contractors, ensuring they adhere to agreed-upon scopes of work, schedules, and quality standards.

Implement Maintenance Schedules: Ensure the timely and effective implementation of planned landscape maintenance schedules, including but not limited to:

Mowing, trimming, and pruning of lawns, shrubs, and trees.

Watering and irrigation system monitoring and basic maintenance.

Fertilizing and pest/disease control programs.
-
Weed control and removal.
-
Seasonal planting and maintenance of flower beds.

Cleaning of landscape areas and removal of debris.

Conduct Site Inspections: Regularly inspect the landscape areas within the assigned communities to identify maintenance needs, potential issues, and areas for improvement.

Monitor Service Quality: Ensure that all landscape services, whether performed by in-house teams or contractors, meet the required quality standards and comply with DHCM’s guidelines.

Address Resident/Stakeholder Requests: Respond to landscape-related inquiries and complaints from residents and other stakeholders in a timely and professional manner, coordinating with relevant teams for resolution.

Ensure Compliance: Ensure all landscape activities are carried out in compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and DHCM’s internal policies.

Manage Resources: Assist in the management of landscape equipment, tools, and materials, ensuring proper storage, maintenance, and efficient utilization.

Provide Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and support to the landscape teams and contractors on best practices, horticultural techniques, and problem-solving.

Report on Landscape Condition: Prepare regular reports on the condition of the landscapes, highlighting completed tasks, identified issues, and recommendations for improvement.

Assist in Budgeting: Provide input to the Landscape Manager in the preparation of the annual landscape maintenance budget.

Promote Sustainability: Implement sustainable landscaping practices, including water conservation, waste reduction, and the use of environmentally friendly materials.

Identify Improvement Opportunities: Continuously identify opportunities for improving landscape maintenance processes, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the communities, and increasing efficiency.

Follow Policies and Procedures: Adhere to all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions.

Perform Other Duties: Undertake any other tasks as assigned by the Landscape Manager or other senior management.
Qualifications, Skills, Experience:

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Agriculture, or a related field.

Minimum of 5-6 years of progressive experience in landscape maintenance and supervision, preferably within a community management or facilities management environment in the UAE or similar region.

Strong knowledge of horticultural practices, plant identification, pest and disease control, and irrigation systems.

Proven ability to supervise and motivate landscape teams and manage external contractors.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.

Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve landscape-related issues.

Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Familiarity with relevant local regulations and best practices in landscaping.

Valid UAE driving license is often preferred.
