Position: Web Developer / Designer

About the Role:
Breakthrough Design Group is seeking a Web Developer / Designer for a contract role (15-25 hours/week) with the potential for full-time employment. In this position, you will primarily focus on converting web designs into highly functional HTML/CSS/JS/WordPress pages, with the option to also create and update design layouts. You’ll be working on building enterprise-level websites, web applications, emails, and other web/mobile applications. Additionally, you’ll assist with SEO improvements and WordPress theme development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Convert designs into clean, usable HTML/CSS/JS/WordPress pages.
• Build enterprise websites, web software, emails, and mobile apps.
• Support SEO upgrades and WordPress theme development.
• Work with cross-browser compatibility (Edge, Safari, Chrome, Firefox).
• Collaborate with developers to integrate design and functionality.

Required Skills:

• Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Figma, and Sketch.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery.
• Experience with Mobile & Responsive Design.
• Expertise in WordPress and managing live sites.
• Cross-browser compatibility experience.
• Ability to work with developers on design integration.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Formal education in or passion for art/design.
• Experience with CSS libraries.
• A love for Typography.
• Knowledge of SEO techniques and their impact on traffic.
• Experience with WooCommerce, PHP, and MySQL.
• Familiarity with Gmail/Google Apps.
• Experience with Google Analytics.
• Ownership of iPhone, iPad, or Android devices.
