Why Join Us?

Your tests will safeguard 16Personalities – a platform that’s helped hundreds of millions of people better understand themselves. Join us in building software that’s both impactful and beautifully engineered.

What You'll Do

Deliver Rock-Solid Releases

  • Build and maintain end-to-end tests in Cypress or Playwright for our Vue + Laravel stack.
  • Take ownership of our QA pipeline – from integration to smoke tests, and everything in between.
  • Run manual exploratory QA when automation doesn’t cut it (new UX, edge cases, Safari-only bugs).
  • Integrate tests into our CI/CD (GitHub Actions) and ensure every deployment is covered.

Champion Quality from the Start

  • Get involved early in planning to clarify acceptance criteria and embed test hooks.
  • Identify and propose process improvements – better logs, test data tagging, accessibility checks, etc.
  • Help developers write basic specs, so you can focus on tougher edge cases.

Think Like Our Users

  • Ensure cross-browser support, mobile responsiveness, performance, and accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA).
  • Anticipate user behavior and validate real-world scenarios.

Types of Challenges You'll Tackle

  • Massive localization: 52+ languages, with i18n keys, RTL layouts, and locale-specific content.
  • Device diversity: Ensure smooth UX from budget phones to 4K desktops.
  • Personalized content: Confirm personality-type-specific content displays correctly in any language.
  • Web Vitals health: Run Lighthouse/PageSpeed checks in CI and flag performance regressions.

Who You Are

You’re not just waiting for tickets—you’re creating the QA roadmap and rallying the team around quality.

Must-Haves

  • 3–5+ years in QA/test automation for modern web apps
  • Solid experience with Cypress or Playwright
  • Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and DOM APIs
  • Familiar with component testing tools (e.g. Vitest)
  • Knowledge of Laravel/Vue
  • Self-starter who digs into details and takes ownership
  • Strong communicator in both written and spoken English

Nice-to-Haves

  • Visual regression testing (Percy, PixelMatch, etc.)
  • Performance testing (Lighthouse CI, k6)
  • Accessibility testing (axe-core, pa11y)
  • Familiarity with Pest or PHPUnit
  • Experience mentoring or leading others

What We Offer

  • Remote freedom: Work from anywhere, on your own schedule.
  • Fair compensation: $60k–$95k/year or $50–$70/hour (flexible for exceptional candidates).
  • Massive impact: Your work will protect features used by millions.
  • Creative autonomy: Experiment, improve, and leave things better than you found them.
  • Career growth: Whether it's QA strategy, DevOps, or backend testing—you choose your path.
