Business Intelligence Specialist
Job Role:
The Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist serves as a strategic partner and subject matter expert within the BI Center of Excellence, responsible for designing and delivering scalable, data-driven solutions that enable business stakeholders to make informed decisions. This role focuses on building and maintaining enterprise-level dashboards, data models, and self-service tools, while ensuring data integrity, governance, and alignment with business objectives. The BI Specialist leads high-impact initiatives, translates complex data into actionable insights, identifies performance trends, and drives continuous improvement across processes and systems. As a trusted advisor for key business domains, they collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively to empower teams at regional and global levels with accessible, accurate, and timely intelligence.
Key Acccountabilities

Lead and deliver high-impact BI initiatives that align with enterprise strategy, ensuring solutions drive data-informed decision-making and measurable business outcomes.

Oversee BI development processes and vendor partnerships, ensuring timely delivery of scalable, sustainable solutions that meet business and production objectives.

Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and semantic layers to support enterprise-level BI platforms, ensuring consistency, performance, and accuracy across reporting solutions.

Develop advanced dashboards, scorecards, and visualizations to monitor performance and support strategic and operational decision-making across functions.

Partner with business stakeholders throughout the BI lifecycle—from identifying needs, to prototyping and testing, through to deployment—enabling a Test & Learn culture and continuous improvement.

Act as the primary BI advisor for assigned business domains, representing leadership when required, and fostering strong cross-functional collaboration across Analytics, Technology, and business teams.

Advocate for and implement self-service BI solutions and training programs, empowering users to access, explore, and interpret data independently using enterprise tools and standards.

Apply data storytelling, data governance, and analytical techniques to address complex business problems, uncover trends, and generate actionable recommendations.

Present BI solutions, insights, and strategic recommendations to varying levels of stakeholders, adapting messaging to technical and non-technical audiences effectively.

Operate with autonomy in driving project execution, managing priorities, and collaborating across departments, requiring minimal supervision while maintaining high accountability.

Take ownership of professional development by actively building BI expertise, staying current with emerging tools, and contributing to CoE best practices and knowledge-sharing efforts
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Marketing, and other related field of studies (Information Technology, Operations Research) or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Minimum university degree and 3-4 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
Experience:
2 or more years progressive work-related experience working with relational decision-support databases and analytical consulting with demonstrated proficiency and understanding in one or more functions related to the position.
