Job Description

The Financial Control Framework (FCF) coordinator for the Ship Repair business applies and analyzes FCF requirements, relevant company policies, and accounting principles on the financial internal controls. Coordinates with the P&S sector, internal audit, and the external financial statement auditors for internal control process documentation, control owner self-assessments, and independent testing of controls. Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management.

Responsiblities Include –

  • Manage all aspects of supporting the external financial statement auditors, BAE Systems Internal Audit, and Financial Control Framework (FCF) Audits; coordinate and facilitate responses to audits, track recommendations to completion

  • Coordinate completion of Control Owner Self-Assessment (COSA) results in line with agreed reporting requirements and timeframes with functional teams

  • Summarize results of COSAs and Independent Business Testing and report results as directed either by FCF Policy or internal Sector guidance

  • Monitor and report on agreed corrective actions as part of COSA review, FCF Independent Business Testing, and DFARS Business Testing

  • Ensure that a centralized repository of FCF Documentation is maintained

  • Ensure FCF Documentation changes are accurately updated in the system or processes used to perform COSA reviews

  • Prepare Annual Risk Assessment and Independent Business Testing Inputs for review and approval by Business Area s Finance Director

  • Participate in the Internal Controls Council

  • Coordinate annual updates to FCF Documentation or more frequently as required

  • Develop/analyze/interpret complex financial data in support of audits and business needs

  • Interface with upper management, functional groups, BAE Systems Internal Audit, and government customer

  • Must be able to travel to ship repair locations periodically (San Diego CA, Norfolk VA, and Jacksonville FL)

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelors degree and 4 years of experience or equivalent experience

  • Ability and willingness to thoroughly document activities and processes

  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment

  • Effective communication skills

  • Good planning, time management, and organization skills

  • Sound interpersonal skills when interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with internal and external customers

  • Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable federal laws and regulations

  • Ability to develop and demonstrate research and present findings

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Knowledgeable of the COSO framework for internal controls; knowledge of FAR/CAS internal control requirements is preferable

  • Understanding of accounting structures in a manufacturing environment is preferable

  • Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint is preferable

  • MBA or Masters in Accounting is preferable

  • CPA / CMA is preferable

  • Experience interfacing with auditors

  • Willingness to venture into new areas of responsibility

  • Team oriented with project leadership experience

  • Ability to stay calm, logical, and professional in stressful meetings

  • Effective listening skills

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $73778 – $125422

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
