What the day will look like

  • Manage and service a portfolio of Marine Retail accounts including Cargo, Logistics, Shipping, Marine Liabilities and Ports & Terminals

  • Accountable for financial performance of account in terms of revenue and profitability, client retention, organic growth and new sales initiatives.

  • Explore upsell and cross-sell opportunities by identifying uninsured exposures and client needs.

  • Identify and assess risks relating to clients’ business and translate them into tailored insurance solutions based on their needs and requirements.

  • Structure program, review wording and identify potential coverage enhancements to address our clients evolving risks.

  • Placement of risks into the insurance market including preparing underwriting submissions and quotation slips, negotiating terms with insurers, as well as handling requests for information.

  • Provide quality service and advice to clients on risk and mitigation, as well as updates on the Marine market, trends and loss environment.

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, prospects and key insurers

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 4-6 years of Marine insurance / reinsurance experience either in broking or underwriting or claims

  • Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently, within a team, as well as across multiple functions and departments

  • Service-oriented with good networking and relationship building skills

  • Analytical, meticulous and pro-active
