Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior General Ledger Accountant to join our Shared Service Center (SSC) team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate general ledger accounting, with specific responsibilities in intercompany reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, month-end close activities, provisions and accruals, and foreign exchange (FX) revaluations

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Fixed Assets Accounting and Administration – Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, transfers, follow-up of AUC and perform monthly depreciation.

  • Intercompany Accounts Reconciliation – Perform monthly intercompany account reconciliations and follow up on outstanding balances. Ensure intercompany transactions are accurately recorded and documented in accordance with group policies.

  • Month-End Close Support – During Month-end closing GL Accountant will perform the activities and processes of reviewing and closing the financial records for a specific month. Ensuring the timeliness, completeness and accuracy of financial data and providing insights into the company’s financial performance for management and stakeholders.

  • Compliance & Controls – Ensure transactions comply with internal controls and accounting standards (IFRS/local GAAP). Participate in internal and external audit preparation by providing documentation and responding to audit queries.

  • Support standardization and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Identify and suggest improvements to accounting procedures and reporting processes within the SSC framework.

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations – Prepare and complete timely monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts. Investigate and resolve discrepancies or aged items in balance sheet accounts, ensuring proper documentation and supporting evidence. Proactively identify risks, unusual trends, or inconsistencies in account balances and escalate issues as needed. Maintain accurate records of reconciliation processes for audit readiness and compliance purposes. Support the standardization and automation of reconciliation processes within the Shared Service Center environment.

Background & Skills

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 1–2 years of experience in general accounting, preferably within a Shared Service Center or multinational environment.

  • Basic knowledge in Accounting Standards (IFRS / Local GAAP).

  • Good skills (B2) in spoken and written English

  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics); experience with automation tools (e.g., BlackLine) is a plus.

  • Strong MS Excel skills for data analysis and reconciliation.

  • Ability to work effectively across teams in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Teamwork and ability to work in a changing environment with different cultures

  • Customer focus and good communication skills.

  • Ability to identify and implement improvement opportunities.

  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced SSC environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).

  • Team-oriented mindset with willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
