The Opportunity:

Smurfit Westrock is currently seeking a Sales Trainee who is interested in a career in the paperboard and packaging industry. Ideal candidates will have some sales experience, preferably with an undergraduate degree. The goal of the program is to give the trainee the knowledge and tools needed to transition into a Sales Representative role.

How You will Impact Smurfit Westrock:

Learn how to manage supplier relationships with an established location

Develop rapport with customers by making periodic visits and exploring specific needs

Learn how to anticipate new opportunities by identifying problems/opportunities within the customeru2019s organization

Learn how to strategically sell company value to customers

Learn sales policies, job functions and expectations leading to the position of Sales Representative

What You Need to Succeed:

Bacheloru2019s degree in Marketing; Business or Commerce; one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent communication skills.

Negotiation skills, sales, budgeting/forecasting, and financial analysis.

Creative problem solving, analytical thinking.

Ability to communicate and form relationships at all levels within the organization.

MS Office and Excel Skills.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, goal-oriented, motivated by commission earnings and success, and open to interdepartmental training in graphics, manufacturing, etc.
