Software Engineering Manager – Remote (UK/EU Only)
💶 Salary: €120,000–€160,000 EUR / £100,000–£135,000 GBP annually
📍 Location: Fully Remote – UK and Europe-based candidates only

DistroKid is the world’s largest distributor of music to platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube. Most new music today is released through us. We're on a mission to help millions of musicians create, distribute, and grow—and we want you to be part of that mission.

We’re looking for a Software Engineering Manager with a strong technical foundation, emotional intelligence, and proven leadership. You’ll guide a team working on innovative tools for musicians, including video distribution, instant mastering, and artist-facing platforms. This role is a mix of hands-on leadership, architectural guidance, and people management.


🎯 What You’ll Do

  • Lead a team of engineers working on large-scale, high-impact products.
  • Drive team performance through clear priorities, autonomy, ownership, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical direction with business goals.
  • Develop and evolve the technical vision and long-term roadmap.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, conducting regular performance reviews and development check-ins.
  • Guide architectural decisions, ensure code quality, and participate in code reviews.
  • Contribute to a culture of clear communication, continuous learning, and inclusive teamwork.

🌟 What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years in engineering management with strong leadership skills.
  • 7+ years of hands-on engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, SQL, HTML/CSS, and familiarity with languages like Python, PHP, or Java.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, event-driven architecture, and scalable systems.
  • Proven ability to lead Agile/Scrum teams and partner closely with product managers.
  • A strong communicator with a passion for mentoring and developing diverse teams.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
  • Passion for music and enthusiasm for the tech that powers it!
