About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Development Manager to lead and build a small, focused team working on the Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) foundation of our platform. This is not a top-down managerial role — you’ll be writing code, designing systems, reviewing PRs, and directly contributing to how we help customers understand and reduce risk around their sensitive data.

You’ll work at the intersection of engineering, security, and compliance — building features like data risk scoring, posture dashboards, policy engines, and control mapping. If you’re passionate about data security and love building secure systems from scratch with a small, high-impact team, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

-Architect and implement DSPM capabilities including posture scoring, control evaluations, policy enforcement, and remediation insights

-Roll up your sleeves to contribute production-quality code and design secure, scalable services

-Lead and mentor a small team of engineers (2–5 to start), helping grow them technically while maintaining a high delivery bar

-Collaborate closely with Security, Product, and Platform teams to define the roadmap and requirements for DSPM features

-Own technical design, prioritization, and execution for DSPM initiatives from day one Integrate with systems like data discovery, classification, access logs, and identity management to surface contextual risk insights

-Ensure secure development and data protection best practices are followed from the start

-Help define the initial hiring bar and culture for a team that will grow with the product

What You Bring

-12+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong backend focus -3+ years of experience in a technical leadership or team lead role, ideally in a startup or early-stage product environment

-Deep expertise in at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Go, Node.js) and building scalable APIs or services

-Proven experience in data security, compliance automation, or cloud security posture domains

-Familiarity with data classification, access governance, RBAC/ABAC, and risk scoring models

-Experience integrating with or building systems for cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

-Working knowledge of compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, NIST, GDPR) and how they relate to technical controls

-Passion for building from scratch, mentoring engineers, and shaping secure, scalable systems with a small team

Nice to Have Experience

-working with policy-as-code tools (e.g., OPA/Rego), control frameworks, or security policy engines

-Familiarity with metadata systems, data catalogs, or DSPM products

-Startup experience — ability to move fast while balancing long-term quality and scale

-Contributions to open-source security, governance, or compliance projects
