WordPress Developer/Technical Writer

We develop WordPress plugins, including WP All Import, WP All Export, Oxygen, and Breakdance. Our plugins power over 200,000 websites for businesses and organizations of all sizes.
We operate remotely using the 37signals approach—no Slack, no meetings, and no interruptions. Our team of around 30 people is spread across the globe.
Fully Async and Remote
Our team is fully remote and distributed globally, with members across different time zones. Where you live and when you work doesn’t matter to us.
Your main responsibility will be creating high-quality, technical long-form content—documentation, tutorials, blog posts, and more. You don’t need to worry about SEO; we’ll handle that. All we need from you is expertise in WordPress and the ability to write engaging, informative content.
There’s also an opportunity to create videos for our various YouTube channels.
Flexibility
While we’re a small team, we prioritize flexibility. Work whenever it suits you—whether in the mornings, evenings, or even late at night. Take time off when needed—whether it’s for a two-week trip or simply a spontaneous day off. No need to inform anyone. The flexibility is all yours.
Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and publish high-quality content for a technical audience.
- Become an expert on the products you’re writing about.
- You’ll sometimes write articles from scratch, sometimes create outlines for others to expand on, and at times, simply edit content written by others.
- Articles often require some preparation time for testing, gathering screenshots, and structuring the content.
Requirements
What matters most to us is your ability to produce high-quality content. The more of the following you can check off, the better:
- Available to work 20-30 hours per week.
- Native-level English writing skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics in a simple, engaging way.
- Expert-level knowledge of WordPress, including page builders, ACF, WooCommerce, and other niche WordPress tools.
- Several years of experience working with WordPress, building websites, troubleshooting, debugging, and possibly plugin development.
- Intermediate PHP knowledge, capable of writing PHP functions, creating custom website components, etc.
- A fast, hands-on learner with the ability to quickly grasp new software and learn more about WordPress, PHP, and related technologies.
