About The Humble Hackers

The Humble Hackers is a small, high-performance team focused on building fast, SEO-driven websites that generate real traffic. We specialize in content-centric platforms, particularly in the AI and due diligence domains, combining modern tech stacks with lean, scalable design principles.

Our work is rooted in quality, technical precision, and resourcefulness. We challenge conventional approaches to build smarter, cleaner, and faster websites. Our stack includes Next.js (frontend), WordPress (backend), Tailwind CSS, and Cloudflare for robust performance and security.

We’re a fully remote, international team growing with intention—prioritizing long-term collaboration and shared values over rapid expansion.

What We Stand For

  • → Ownership
  • → Curiosity
  • → Performance mindset
  • → Technical precision
  • → Clear, direct communication

If these values resonate with you, you could be a great fit at The Humble Hackers.

We also leverage smart SEO strategies and scalable content generation as key drivers of our marketing success.

About the Role

We're looking for a Next.js + WordPress Developer to take ownership of both front-end and back-end performance across our portfolio of high-traffic, content-driven websites. In this role, you’ll be responsible for building fast, scalable interfaces, optimizing WordPress architecture, and designing clean integrations between systems.

This is a full-time, remote position with a focus on autonomy, problem-solving, and long-term impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop high-performance user interfaces using Next.js and Tailwind CSS
  • Customize and maintain the WordPress backend (themes, plugins, and REST APIs)
  • Design clean, scalable APIs to connect frontend and backend systems
  • Optimize performance using Cloudflare edge functions, CDNs, and caching strategies
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and identify long-term architectural improvements
  • Ensure accessibility, SEO, and mobile responsiveness are built in from day one
  • Work with RESTful APIs or GraphQL as needed
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement

About You

You’re a resourceful, performance-minded developer who thrives on building scalable systems and solving technical challenges independently. You’re proactive, curious, and value clean architecture as much as end-user performance.

You should have:

  • Strong experience with WordPress and Next.js
  • Solid knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and Tailwind CSS
  • Familiarity with the WordPress REST API and custom endpoints
  • Experience with state management (e.g., Redux or React Context)
  • Understanding of CI/CD workflows and deployment pipelines
  • A performance-first mindset: SEO, page speed, and scalability
  • Excellent debugging skills and attention to detail

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or .NET

What’s in It for You?

💰 $25,000–$39,000 USD/year, based on experience
🌍 Fully remote, full-time
📈 Room to grow technically and professionally
🧠 Work on meaningful problems with real autonomy and impact
🤝 Join a collaborative team with asynchronous communication and a low-ego culture

If you're passionate about clean code, performance, and modern development practices, we’d love to hear from you.
