The Position
We are seeking a Senior Software Support Engineer to join our dynamic team at CData Virtuality. As a key player at a leading data virtualization software provider, you will contribute to transforming the way businesses manage and access their data globally. Your role will ensure seamless support for our diverse customer base, ensuring optimal performance and enhancing their experience with our software. The position will cover working hours across all American time zones.

Your Role and Impact
As a Senior Software Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in both proactive and reactive service delivery. With your technical expertise, you will address complex software issues and offer support at various levels. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • SaaS Support: Responding to customer inquiries via in-product Intercom, providing support across all levels (1st to 3rd), with an emphasis on 2nd and 3rd level.
  • CData Virtuality Platform Support: Providing ticket-based troubleshooting and problem resolution for both EU and US customers.
  • SaaS Monitoring: Using monitoring tools to identify and resolve incidents proactively.
  • Setup and Operations: Configuring and managing cloud environments, performing software updates on Windows and Linux systems (via RDP and SSH), and ensuring smooth software and server operations.

What We're Seeking

Must-Have Requirements:

Personal:

  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Self-organized, motivated, and responsible with an empathic and analytical approach.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a curious mindset.

Professional:

  • Knowledge of database technologies and Linux.
  • Proficiency in SQL and debugging source code.
  • Experience in software support/consulting or a similar function.
  • Ability to troubleshoot effectively and understand documentation to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Experience with SLA-bound operations and providing support via screen-sharing or phone.
  • Familiarity with bug trackers, Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and container platforms.
