Key Responsibilities
Planting and Cultivating:
- Prepare soil by tilling, fertilizing, and leveling fields.
- Plant seeds or seedlings manually or using farm machinery.
- Water and fertilize crops as per farm schedules.
Crop Maintenance:
- Weed, thin, and prune crops for optimal growth.
- Monitor crops for pests and diseases, reporting issues to supervisors.
- Maintain irrigation systems.
Harvesting:
- Manually or mechanically harvest vegetables at the right time.
- Sort and grade produce by size, quality, and ripeness.
- Pack produce for transportation.
Farm Maintenance:
- Clean and organize work areas.
- Repair fences, trellises, and farm structures.
- Maintain and clean farm tools, equipment, and machinery.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow safety protocols and wear protective gear.
- Adhere to farm guidelines for produce and equipment handling.
Record-Keeping:
- Document daily activities like planting, harvesting, and packaging.
- Report any issues regarding crop health or farm operations.
Tasks
- Clean crops and grade produce based on size, shape, and color.
- Pack fruits and vegetables for market readiness.
- Examine produce quality and sort for high-market value.
